ABOUT ME
Hi, I am Karthick Thangavelu
Psychologist | BPsychSc (Hons), MProfPsych
I am a Psychologist registered with AHPRA. My approach is client-centred, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s unique experiences. I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Conversational Model, and Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP) to support clients in developing emotional resilience and self-understanding.
With clinical experience in private practice and university counselling settings, I have worked with individuals managing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and neurodivergence (e.g., Autism, ADHD). I also have a strong research background, contributing to studies on anxiety in Parkinson’s disease, virtual reality-assisted psychotherapy, and neurocognitive disorders. My research interests reflect a commitment to innovative therapeutic approaches that enhance well-being and promote meaningful change.
